Youth Social Action Fund (Birmingham, the Black Country, Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire)

Registered charities, community groups and social enterprises in Birmingham, the Black Country, Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire can apply for grants of between £1,000 and £5,000 through the Youth Social Action Fund.

The Heart of England Community Foundation administers this fund which is part of the UK wide “#iwill” campaign.  The “#Iwill” campaign aims to increase the number of people between the ages of 10 and 20 years (25 for disabled people) who take part in youth social action. This can include campaigning, fundraising and volunteering, all of which enable participants to make a positive difference to their communities.  The funding is available to organisations with an annual income of less than £500,000.

Examples of the types of projects that can be supported include:

  • Regular volunteering at a care home
  • A drop in where young people teach others new skills such as coding/bike maintenance/nail art
  • Bite-size events for young people to train an organisation’s staff on the latest social media, etc.

The closing date for applications is the 24th February 2017.
