Vocational Pathways Fund for Museums Launched (Scotland)

Accredited museums in Scotland or organisations working in partnership with organisations running Accredited museums in Scotland can apply for grants of up to £20,000 to introduce good quality, affordable vocational training.

The aim of the Vocational Pathways Fund is to increase access to the Scottish museum sector and to develop progression routes for existing staff.   Funding is available for projects that either build the infrastructure of the sector to increase its capacity to facilitate work-based vocational learning at all levels or pilot ways of addressing the gaps identified in the Vocational Pathways Framework  (i.e. where there is currently no qualification).  This could include developing a foundation apprenticeship in partnership with a local secondary school or developing graduate apprenticeships. Match funding is not required but it is expected that organisations will invest staff hours and other non-cash contributions into the project.

This is a rolling fund and applications will be accepted at any time up until the 19th February 2018.
