Vocational Learning Technology Fund (VocLearnTech)

The Ufi Charitable Trust was set up to addresses what it sees as a chronic skills deficit in the UK, coupled with high unemployment and a large number of people who remain digitally excluded.

The Vocational Learning Technology Fund provides funding for initiatives that can improve the accessibility and delivery of adult learning through the use of technology.

Early-stage funding will be offered to organisations undertaking projects that have the potential for using digital technology in novel and imaginative ways to develop new services or improve access or delivery of adult vocational learning. The programme will help supported ventures to develop their ideas into robust digital products or services.

Within the terms of this fund, vocational learning refers to adults being assisted to learn skills linked directly to a function performed within employment; including numeracy and literacy skills.

Successful applicants can each expect to receive grant funding, typically of between £15,000 and £50,000. However there is no upper or lower funding limit. The funding provider wishes to encourage applicants to be realistic about what they need to achieve their project objectives.

Funding will be awarded for a maximum period of 12 months. Ufi Charitable Trust will not ask for an equity stake, nor request loan repayments. Successful ventures retain any IP developed with this funding.

The duration of the investment is agreed on a project-by-project basis.
