Stockport Councils Supported Employment Contract
Adult Social Care is reviewing the way in which all services are commissioned to ensure that they are personalised, support independence and reduce reliance on statutory services. Creating opportunities and providing the support necessary for more people to gain employment continues to be a corporate priority despite the challenging financial climate.
The value and benefits of Supported Employment Service have long been recognised in Stockport, both in terms of the positive impact on the health and wellbeing of individuals and their families; and for companies who employ a diverse workforce. There has been a successful, independent Supported Employment Service in Stockport for more than 10 years.
Adult Social Care wish to commission a service that builds on people?s strengths and skills and which supports them at key stages on their journey towards employment. The focus will be on harnessing local resources and working proactively with employers of all sizes and in a wide range of industries. We wish to work with an experienced provider that can demonstrate an innovative, asset based approach and which can deliver excellent value for money. They will work collaboratively with families and carers; and will build capability and resilience in individuals by working with partners and networks to support people to gain and retain employment. They will raise the aspirations of adults who need support, their families, schools and colleges, and staff in statutory and non-statutory organisations.
The new service will focus on the impact it has on people’s lives and the progress people make on their journey towards work. The provider will work with Adult Social Care to develop flexible and practical outcome measures that capture information about the achievements of individuals.
