Prince’s Countryside Fund Opens for Applications (UK)

The Prince’s Countryside Fund has re-opened for applications.

Each year the fund makes £1 million available and organisations and charities that are helping to protect and sustain Britain’s farming and rural communities are able to apply for funding of up to £50,000. To be considered for funding projects need to contribute to one of three countryside issues, these are to:

  • Improve the prospects of viability for family farm businesses
  • Sustain rural communities and drive economic vibrancy
  • Support aid delivery in emergency and building resilience.

For this round the Fund has specific funds available to help the rural communities affected by the recent flooding following a series of storms over the winter. The Fund is actively seeking applications from organisations that are supporting farmers, rural businesses and communities to recover following the flooding or projects that are focused on assisting the recovery and future resilience in these rural areas, particularly Cumbria, Lancashire, North Yorkshire, Herefordshire, Northumberland and Scotland.

The closing date for applications is the 13th October 2016.
