New Call for Proposals for Action Grants to Overcome Gender Stereotypes (UK)

The EU has issued a new call for proposals under the Rights, Equality and Citizenship Programme.

It has €3.5m funding to provide Action grants to support transnational projects that promote good practices on gender roles and help to overcome gender inequality in education, training and the workplace. Projects should aim at changing attitudes, behaviours and practices that hamper progress towards equality and restrict the potential of women, men, girls and boys. In particular, the priorities of this call are to:

  • Address the stereotyping of educational and career choices and to promote gender equality in education, training and career guidance
  • Attract women into male-dominated sectors or occupations, and vice versa; challenge stereotypical assumptions about the roles of women and men in the labour market, including in leadership positions
  • Ensure that work practices promote gender equality, and do not reinforce stereotypes, gender segregation and inequalities.

The deadline for submitting proposals is 27th May 2016.
