Maths Pipeline 2: Teaching the New GCSE Maths specifications

These 3 workshops are designed to build your personal confidence in mathstopics and develop your maths teaching skills in order to deliver the new GCSE specifications successfully. Each workshop day is offered as a discrete CPD session but if combined, they provide a substantial professional developmentprogramme. Focusing on the new GCSE specification particularly at Foundation level, the workshops model effective teaching and assessment strategies; using active learning approaches and quality resources with the aim of supporting your learners to improve and succeed.

Who is this course for?

The workshops will particularly benefit those teachers within Further Education who;

  • are currently teaching discrete numeracy and functional maths programmes at Level 2, and who wish to develop their skills to teach GCSE Mathematics
  • and/or,
  • are new to the teaching of GCSE Mathematics

Entry requirements

In order to join the course, you will need to:

  • have experience in teaching maths at level 2 in the post-16 sector
  • preparing to teach GCSE Maths
