Maidstone Community and Skills Centre – Vocational Provision 14-18

Kent County Council invites Education Providers to bid to run the Maidstone Skills and Community Centre. The purpose of this tender is to find the best possible service for the students it educates and the community in which it is situated. Kent County Council will provide no funding or guarantees for the Centre however, it will provide the building for a peppercorn rent.

There are two elements required of the provision:
• A post 16 study programme including technical qualifications, Maths, English and work experience where students are on the roll of the Provider. This is to be funded by the provider via a direct ESFA contract.
• Contracted part time provision of non-core technical/vocational qualifications for pre and post-16 young people at risk of NEET in schools, PRUs or other relevant training providers.

The students will remain on the role of the contracting organisation and the provision will be funded by charges made to the contracting organisation which will be negotiated between
the Provider and contacting organisations.

Providers bidding for this contract must:
• Be experienced in delivering similar services to vulnerable students.
• Have a direct ESFA contract with access to High Cost Needs (Element 2) Funding
• Be Ofsted Grade 3 or higher.

Response to this invitation tender should be via www.Kentbusinessportal.org.uk
only. Interested providers should register and download the documentation from
this site.
