Lifeboat Charities Encouraged to Bid for Part of £1 Million Support Fund (UK)

UK Registered charities that already operate an inshore/inland lifeboat or rescue boat within or around the UK have until the 20th October 2016 to apply for funding from the Inshore and Inland rescue boat grant scheme.

This scheme was launched by the government in 2014 and is a 5-year scheme with £1million available each year. The fund supports charities running local lifeboat and rescue services, helping those in danger on and around inland and inshore waterways. The money from the fund can be used to buy equipment such as lifejackets, power boats and safety gear, as well as go towards training and other costs to support ongoing lifesaving efforts. There are no minimum or maximum amounts for awards but bids for funds exceeding £50,000 must include plans to match fund or offer a contribution towards total cost.
