Lifeboat Charities Encouraged to Bid for Part of £1 Million Support Fund (UK)

UK Registered charities that operate an inshore/inland lifeboat or rescue boat within or around the UK have until midnight on the 6th September 2017 to apply for funding from the Inshore and Inland rescue boat grant scheme.

This scheme was launched by the government in 2014 and is a 5-year scheme with £1million available each year. The fund supports charities running local lifeboat and rescue services, helping those in danger on and around inland and inshore waterways. The money from the fund can be used to buy equipment such as lifejackets, power boats and safety gear, as well as go towards training and other costs to support ongoing lifesaving efforts. There are no minimum or maximum amounts for awards but the applicant organisation must provide 10% towards the cost of the items funded.
