The People’s Health Trusts HealthSustain programme which covers Tameside, Wigan, Bolton, Bury, Rochdale and Oldham is now open and will be accepting applications until 1pm on the 24th August 2016.
HealthSustain is part of the Active Communities programme which provides grant funding of between £5,000 and £25,000 per year for projects designed and led by local people which target areas most affected by health inequalities. Projects will be small and local and could cover a few streets, a housing estate or a small village. They will last for between twelve months and two years and will make neighbourhoods better places to grow, live, work and age.
Previous projects supported include:
A women’s volunteering group run by and for Bengali women, computer skills support group run for and by older people and support for local people to become community organisers.
