HealthPromote (Islington, Haringey, Enfield, City of London, Tower Hamlets, Hackney)

Small community groups can apply for grants of between £5,000 and £25,000 per year to address local health inequalities in organisations in Islington, Haringey, Enfield, City of London, Tower Hamlets, Hackney.

The funding is available for projects that cover small areas such as a few streets, a housing estate or a small village or Communities of interest (people who have shared experiences, characteristics or common interests and wish to come together to address specific issues that are important to them). Projects can last between 12 months and two years.

Previous projects supported include:

Face Front Inclusive Theatre Limited in Edmonton which received a grant of £34,247 to deliver weekly performing arts training sessions for a group of adults with a range of disabilities.

Island House Community Centre in Tower Hamlets which received a grant of £48,901 to deliver street dance sessions for young people aged 4-18, from a diverse range of ethnic groups, living in Tower Hamlets. The project follows a successful one-year pilot and will enable young people to create their own dance choreography supported by qualified tutors.

The closing date for applications is 1pm on the 8th November 2017.
