HealthCourage (Hertfordshire, Central Bedfordshire, Luton and Bedford)

Small community can apply for grants of between £5,000 and £25,000 to address local health inequalities in organisations in Hertfordshire, Central Bedfordshire, Luton and Bedford.

The funding is available for projects that cover small areas such as a few streets, a housing estate or a small village or Communities of interest (people who have shared experiences, characteristics or common interests and wish to come together to address specific issues that are important to them). Projects can last between 12 months and two years.

Previous projects supported include:

The Bengali Women’s Project in Luton which received a grant of £49,902 for a two-year project which aims to improve the language and communication skills of local Bengali women aged 21-55 living in Bury Park, Luton, so that they may become more active citizens in their communities.

The Wheelchair Dance Sport Association in Watford who received a grant of £22,079 for a new two-year project that will see the development of regular wheelchair dance activities for residents of three local estates in Garston, Watford.

The closing date for applications is 1pm on the 26th July 2017.
