HealthContact – Active Communities Funding Round Now Open (Devon, Torbay)

Projects addressing local health inequalities in Devon and Torbay can apply until 01:00 pm on the 20th September 2017 for funding from the People’s Health Trust programme, the organisation set up to distribute funds generated by The Health Lottery.

Grants of a minimum of £5,000 over one year, £7,500 over 18 months, or £10,000 over two years up to a maximum of £50,000 are available for projects that cover small areas such as a few streets, a housing estate or a small village; as well as communities of interest (people who have shared experiences, characteristics or common interests and wish to come together to address specific issues that are important to them).

Previously funded projects include:

Barton Acorn Youth, Community & Sports Centre, £23,990 for a two-year project to provide support and advice to residents of Barton, Torquay, on issues affecting their lives, as well a space for them to share social activities such as cookery, arts, music and sport.

Blatchcombe Community Partnership, £12,432 for a two-year project to develop a community hub in the shopping area of Foxhole, Paignton.
