Funding opportunity – Heathrow Community Fund
Heathrow Community Fund
The Communities for Youth programme offered by Heathrow Community Fund is open to local schools, constituted community groups and charities in the five local boroughs closest to Heathrow: Hounslow, Hillingdon, Spelthorne, Slough, and Ealing.
Applications can be made for grants of between £2,500 and £25,000 for initiatives that address at least one of the following two themes:
- Creating learning opportunities for young people so as to raise their aspirations. This could include informal learning outside of the classroom, or could be offering young people new experiences and challenges that will increase their life skills and confidence, for example through volunteering in their local community.
- Breaking down barriers to employment through skills development. This could offer young people in school – or school leavers – opportunities to learn practical skills to improve their life skills and employability.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate how young people aged between 13 and 25 have been involved in all stages of the project. All projects should also be as inclusive as possible, seek to strengthen community cohesion, and able to demonstrate potential for sustainability.
The next deadline is 28 May 2016.
