Birmingham Joint Investment Strategy – Growth through People

You are invited to submit no later than Friday 22nd January 2016 a proposal for the provision of construction focussed vocational pre-employment pathways as part of Birmingham City Council’s (BCC) and the Construction Industry Training Board’s (CITB) Joint Investment Strategy, Growth through People Project, as detailed in this document.
Providers must hold lead Adult Skills Budget (ASB) contracts with the Skills Funding Agency and use the ASB as match funding for the project.
Re-engage 250 unemployed construction workers claiming benefits and 50 young people who are not in education or training (NEET) including the long term unemployed who are new to construction who reside in key localities across Birmingham to help them to re-enter the construction industry.
The target areas are Birmingham and Solihull with particular focus on the following areas which have some of the highest unemployment rates in Birmingham:-
- Bordsley Green
- Washwood Heath
- Lozells & East Handsworth
