DCMS appoints charity founder to work on civil society strategy

Danny Kruger, the former Conservative speechwriter and charity founder, is leaving pro-Brexit think tank the Legatum Institute for DCMS to work on the government’s civil society strategy.     Kruger founded and ran the rehabilitation charity, Only Connect, which merged with Catch22 in 2015. He also founded and chaired West London Zone, a programme working with at-risk children and young people. He received an MBE in the Queen’s 2017 birthday honours. He joined the Legatum Institute in 2016 and has recently co-authored a paper on the way forward after the Grenfell Tower disaster.
