Comic Relief Launches Tech vs Abuse Funding Programme (UK)

Organisations and partnerships who are working to develop technology solutions that will make a difference to people affected by domestic abuse and enable service providers to extend their reach, have until the 13th March 2017 to apply for funding under the new Comic Relief Tech vs Abuse initiative.

Grants of between £20,000 and £50,000 are being made available. The fund will support initiatives that aim to address key challenges that will:

  • Enable women experiencing abuse to access key information in a way that is easy to find, simple to navigate and quick to interact with
  • Enable access to services for support at any time of day or night
  • Provide control over online data, privacy settings and social media accounts
  • Create accessible information on the legal process and the financial situation women find themselves in
  • Use the web to raise awareness of what an abusive relationship looks like and provoke women and girls experiencing abuse to recognise this and get support.
