Call for assessors – Hackney Council Main Grants
Hackney Council’s Main Grants programme is open until Monday 16 September 2019. For more information click here.
The Council is now looking for CVS representatives who can participate in the assessment of the applications.
The Council needs people with the ability to draw conclusions from basic data and financial information. They want VCS representatives to be involved as they have an understanding of the challenges facing some of more disadvantaged and vulnerable residents. From the Sector’s perspective this is a good opportunity for people to apply their skills in a different context and get a ‘behind the scenes’ understanding of how grants are assessed by the Council.
A full briefing and guidance will be provided.
The Council expects that scoring of applications will take up to 2 – 2 ½ days, and the subsequent assessment moderation panels will involve a commitment of 1.5 days, though this is all dependent on the number and quality of applications received.
Scoring of applications, and panel meetings will take place as below:
- 1 October (full day) – Score Gateway section
- 2 October – extra time to Score Gateway if required
- 3 October (full day) – Gateway assessors’ moderation
- 10 October (full day) – Score 2nd Stage section
- 11 October (half day) – 2nd Stage assessors’ moderation
People will need to commit fully to being available during these times as the moderation is undertaken in teams and the deadline for making recommendations to Cabinet is fixed.
Please contact Claire WitneyClaire.firstname.lastname@example.org with the names of your nominees by 20 August. If your organisations is applying for a Main Grant please let her know.
