Apply Now for a Space Technology: Exploratory Ideas Grant (UK)

A Call has been issued for applications to the Space Technology Grants Programme.

This call covers Exploratory Ideas (GEIs) projects i.e. mini studies to support innovative space technology activities, and is part of the National Space Technology Programme (NSTP). The Programme aims to develop the capability of the UK space sector by providing seed funding for early stage innovative ideas. Project proposals are sought for space technology research and development projects in areas including:

  • Early Technology Readiness Level (TRL) innovation
  • Technology proof of concept; small technology developments
  • Establishing new industrial research collaborations
  • Market studies
  • Studies into spin in or out of technologies for space.

Proposals are welcomed from industry, academia and SME’s (including not-for-profits) for space technology research and development projects that fit with the 5 main themes in the National Space Technology Strategy:

  • Telecommunications
  • Sensing
  • Position, navigation and timing
  • Exploration and robotics
  • Access to space.

The maximum grant value is £10,000 for projects of maximum 3 months duration.

Applications from organisations new to space technology are welcomed. All applications to this Call must be received by no later than 12 noon on 22 September 2017.
