Basic Digital Skills for Work

What are the essential digital skills we should all have to fully benefit from technology at work?

The Tech Partnership and Lloyds Banking Group are leading a consultation to develop a new Basic Digital Skills Framework for the UK. If you haven’t had a chance to feedback on the framework yet, please do so before 20 March.

The new framework is set to change the way that the UK understands and measures the Basic Digital Skills required for adults to thrive in a digital world. The vision, with the new framework, is for all individuals to be able to develop their digital skills – both for life and for work – across four categories of basic digital skills:

  • Managing information
  • Communicating
  • Transacting
  • Problem solving

The Department for Education (DfE) and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) plan to use the updated Framework as the basis for developing new national standards for basic digital skills.

The consultation invites everyone, and in particular employers, to have their say. We’re looking forward to your input.
